Dr. Holsti is a licensed Occupational Therapist, an Associate Professor and holds Canada Research Chair in Neonatal Health and Development. Her research focuses on finding more accurate ways to assessment pain in infants in the neonatal intensive care nursery and she conducts trials to find the most effective treatments for pain and stress in order to promote healthy development in these infants. She is also involved in national studies determining the most effective ways to translate knowledge regarding neonatal and pediatric pain. In addition to her pain research, she conducts more general measurement and intervention studies with older children with a variety of health-related illnesses.
